WEDDING PARTY
STEPHANIE GUANLAO
MAID OF HONOR
Maria has always been my ride or die. Growing up, anytime we were together we would always find ourselves laughing our way through some wild predicament. Although I met Jules before he and Maria started dating, I should’ve known then that they were perfect for each other. I can’t think of a better person to replace me as Maria’s ride or die. Cheers to Maria and Jules, wishing you both the best always!

Maria on my phone is Maria-mosa and I’ve never changed it since I met her. My brother wanted me to meet Maria for the first time and we went to bonefish grill back when it had brunch. And FREAKIN MARIA orders peach bellini’s after peach bellini’s after peach bellini’s. I got so drunk one of the first time I met Maria that her name on my phone has been Maria-mosa ever since.

MAID OF HONOR
I met Maria & Jules when we were pledging for our sorority and fraternity during the Fall 2011 semester at UNLV. Since then, these two have both been a constant in my life being my line sister & my twin brhother. When COVID 2020 hit & the world was supposed to be quarantining & staying six feet away from each other, Maria & Jules were doing the opposite by dragging me along with them. This was the beginning of “Mules” & I had a front-row seat to it all. They would hold me hostage in Jules’ casita all day long where we did things like a paint & sip double date, Jules serenaded to Maria, & I did TikTok dances while they napped on the couch in the background. & even back then at that time, they knew they were each other’s soulmate already envisioning this wedding coming up. I’m happy to have witnessed it all & can’t wait to be part of your forever. I love you, Mules! #fall2011forever #weloveourpbrhos

Jules- I have so many great memories with Jules - from taking the same Kin classes, helping him train his back squats and all our fun kicking it in A Psi Rho. But one of the most quintessential “Jules” moment was this one time we were hanging out in SD. It was a great time hanging out and walking around PB. Drinks were involved so Jules was definitely in the zone. We stumbled upon this cute little donut shop. The logo of the shop was in a very obscure font. “Lirs” is what Jules thought this name was and proceeds to ask the guy working “Are you Lir?” Guy working laughs but also looked extremely confused. We the realized the name was “Lil” Donut and we all laughed heavily. Maria- I will always remember Maria for building up my confidence in taking pictures especially for her and Melissa. She would always say “Wow that’s a good one Beej” and little that she knew that really meant a lot to me as I became the pseudo photographer for all APhiG pictures at that time. I also enjoy how much she AGREES with the compliments I give her man Jules (Wow what a guy) I love the both of you so much and very blessed to be apart of your big, special day

I met both Maria and Jules in college through Greek life. Maria has been a constant since then and I’m grateful to say that we’ve been through all the many seasons of life together. I luckily became closer with Jules (my Panda twin!) when they started dating (thank you, Maria!). Since then, they have both been such a big part of our lives. One of my favorite memories with them was after the Usher concert, we tried to go to the Foundation Room but we couldn’t get in since Wes had shorts on, lol. So instead, we went back to the car and while we were deciding what to do next we reminisced and took turns playing OG songs from when we were younger.. seeing who could pick the best song. My other favorite memories with them are from the countless concerts we’ve gone to and our car bar talks.😅 It’s always a fun time when we are together!

I met Maria and Jules back in college, and honestly, I don’t think I could’ve predicted that one random night would eventually lead to their wedding. It all started with Jules coming to my rescue. I was in a situation where I was completely out of my element and desperately needed someone to bail me out. And then Jules showed up — calm, confident, and somehow acting like this was just another Tuesday. From that moment on, Jules and I became friends. But what I remember even more was Maria’s reaction. The second Maria saw Jules step in and save the day, you could practically see the lightbulb go off. She was intrigued. Then impressed. Then, before long, I think we can safely say she was completely infatuated with Jules. I like to think I played a small part in bringing these two together, but Jules did the hard part — he showed up at exactly the right time, saved the day, and apparently won Maria’s heart in the process. Years later, here we are. What started as a college friendship and one heroic rescue turned into something neither of them probably expected: the two of them standing here today, getting married. So I guess the real lesson is this: sometimes you never know when helping out a friend is going to change your life — or, in Jules’ case, when it’s going to land you the love of your life. I’m incredibly lucky to have met both of them, and even luckier to get to watch their story continue. Cheers to Maria and Jules!

When I was still in high school, I lived with ate Maricar and her family. Everything was all good and nice until I slowly realized I had basically been brought into that house for free labor. I did ate Maricar’s hair, did her makeup before she went out, cleaned her car, and got dragged along to run errands like I was on payroll. To be fair, my benefits package did include some Roberto’s carne asada fries and, if she was feeling especially generous, Cold Stone ice cream, all while being forced to watch What’s Your Number? for the 600th time because she was obsessed with Chris Evans. On top of all that, I was also her therapist, listening to her cry and vent about the relationship she was in at the time. So years later, getting to watch her meet kuya Julieyous, who could absolutely pass for Chris Evans if you squint really hard, and seeing how genuinely happy and loved she is with him has been really special. Kuya Julieyous, welcome to the position. Unfortunately, it is still unpaid.

I remember my sister saying she was dating someone for the last month or so. Being the brother that I am I asked no questions. But as things got more serious between it was finally time for me to meet her boyfriend. I remember my sister taking him to my house one evening. He came up and introduced himself to me. First thing I said to him was wow your hands are really soft.

One of the first times time I saw Maricar and Jules together was during COVID, at my drive-by baby shower. I remember Jules doing TikTok dances on my driveway with our cousins and thinking how easily he seemed to fit right in. Anyone who knows our family knows we are BIG, loud, and there is never a dull moment, so I love how naturally Jules has become part of it all. He embraces the craziness, gets along with everyone, and is always willing to join in on the fun. Most importantly, I love seeing how happy he makes my cousin, and I’m so excited to officially welcome him into our family! ❤️

I'll never forget the day I finally got my driver's license. And I have my brother, Manong Jules, to thank for that. On the way to the DMV, he didn't yell or get angry at me for failing the first two times. He just kept encouraging me to keep going. That's my brother for ya, no matter how many times I screw up, he's always patient and understanding. Now, he gets to give that same love and support to my future sister-in-law, Ate Maria.

My favorite memory with Maria and Jules is when I randomly asked them both to come to a concert with me. At the time, I was separately friends with each of them, and they weren’t even that close to each other! We had an amazing time, took group pictures at the end of the night, and little did I know I was unknowingly setting the stage for their love story. Fast-forward, Maria and Jules became a couple and somehow that same group photo became their go-to photo for many posts. The worst part was they continuously crop me out of it. 😂 I’m just happy these two are together and I could be a small part of their love story.

I met this wonderful couple in two different but similar ways. I met Jules when I joined a Filipino organization in college. Then I met Maria when I joined a Greek organization.. filled with Filipinos. Apparently, we all had an affinity for cultural organizations that had very little to do with the actual culture. At the time, young Jules had just begun his rap career, shoutout J Wunder and the Amazing Zoo Crew! A couple years later, Maria and I became family. Bear Fam, Best Fam! Back then, I never would’ve guessed that Jules and Maria would end up together. But God has a beautiful way of bringing the right people together at just the right time and sometimes in ways you’d never expect. So I guess the best story I have of these two is the story of being able to witness their love from the start to now.

In my eyes, Maria is the baby cousin, the youngest from our cousin girl gang, even though I live in Australia and so much time passes between chats and years between physically being together, nothing ever changes - i had heard so much about Jules and in 2022 we visited Vegas and got to meet him and imerse into their life for 3 weeks 🩷 we stayed at their home they were building together, from Day 1 Jules was so welcoming, he is honestly the nicest, most caring and devoted man to Maria - have you met a more patient man?! I could instantly see how much he loves her, how he would do anything (and everything) for her and I knew she had found a keeper! We would always joke about when their wedding would be and of course, we wouldn't miss it and would be coming! My uncle and aunt (Maria's parents came to visit Australia) and told me Jules had asked to marry their daughter 😭 i was dying with excitement! We video'd in for the big moment, in front of all their friends and family - the special moment had been planned to perfection!

We were the “baby cousins” at the time, we hadn’t seen each other in years. Reconnected with a yard long, and reminisced on the good old days when he lived on Euclid.

One of my favorite memories with my sister is when we went to New York in November and we did a double decker bus tour, we sat on the second open floor upfront and it was SO COLD out. What we didn’t realize was everyone else who was also on the second level had at some point during the tour gone back down to the heated first floor. We were the last ones to survive the cold til the end.. but we didn’t even realize it till the tour guide called us out at the last stop. We laughed about it and how we felt bamboozled to stay up there, we didn’t want to be the quitters to go downstairs. But I also remember that we had some of the best unobstructed views of New York from up there as well. And I love getting to experience that with my sister.

Meeting Maria for the first time during their San Diego trip has to be my absolute favorite memory of the two of them. Jules Wayne was beaming with so much giddy pride introducing her to the cousins that you couldn’t wipe the smile off his face. I honestly couldn't tell if Maria was annoyed or just completely wiped out from traveling, but I took my hosting duties seriously and kept them out way past their bedtime. Seeing how completely head-over-heels he was, I didn't hesitate to give him some unsolicited advice right in front of her: "You better hurry up and put a ring on it!" Without skipping a beat, Jules whispered back, “Shhh! I’m going to!”
